Christmas Boxes

Merry Christmas Boxes

Christmas is one of my favorite Holidays (along with Thanksgiving) and I love decorating for Christmas most of all! Especially since that means I get to craft!

(Finished Product)

Supplies:

14 Wooden Blocks (about 2" x 2" x 1")
Paint: Green, Red & White
Glitter Paint or Glitter Glue
Paint Brush & Water
Rubber Cement Glue (or glue of choice)
1" tall Wooden Letters (spelling "Merry Christmas")

Directions:

1.) Start out by painting your wooden boxes Red & Green, alternating each color every other block. I started my first block "M" with Red, "E" block will be green, and so on until all blocks are painted. I painted all sides, besides the bottom since it will not be seen.

(Painted Blocks)

2.) Next, take your Merry Christmas letters (unpainted) and paint them with white paint. Once dry, add glitter on-top for an extra touch.

(Painted Letters)

3.) Once letters are done drying, spread glue onto the black then press firmly against the wooden block until it sticks. Continue this step until all letter are glued onto the painted blocks. Let dry and set out for all to admire!

Seashell Frame

Seashell Frame

 I love making my own costume frames that go along with the picture I want to put in them. So, a recent trip down the ocean with my husband sparked this idea for a Seashell Frame.

(Est. Project Time: 20 min.)

What you will need:

* Wooden Frame (Dollar Store)
*Hot Glue Gun
* Seashells (found on the beach)
*Paint, Water & Paintbrush

Directions:

1.) First, take your frame and remove the glass and backing so you are only working with the fame.

2.) Pick a color out that you want to go along with your frame. I choose yellow since it goes well with the colors in the shells. Paint the front & sides of your frame. I did 2-3 layers to give the yellow a bold look.

3.) Once paint is completely dry begin hot gluing your shells to your frame. Hold each shell to the frame for about 10 seconds to secure it to the frame. Continue gluing the shells to the frame until you have your desired look. Once complete and dry put frame back together, add a picture and hang!

Painted Nutcrackers

Nutcrackers

This year, and like every year, I am always thinking of new crafts or things to do for Christmas decorations. I found these (unpainted) Nutcrackers at Hobby Lobby, (I believe they where about $6.99/ea.)   Once I got these cute guys home all I did was think what colors I wanted to use, then began to paint! I did a few layers of paint for each color and voila! Painted nutcrackers for Christmas!

What you will need:

* Nutcrackers (Unpainted).
* Paint: Green, Red. Black, White, Bronze & Silver (or any colors that you wish).
* Paintbrushes & Water.
* Glitter (I used Glitter on-top of the white paint to give the snowmen a "snowy" look).
